Hey guys,
New guy here, and noob to this whole arcade scene. Have always wanted to have a couple arcades and I just bought my own house not too long ago so I treated myself to a 1992 Sega Virtua Racer. Once I have this one fixed up I'm going to get a Daytona USA.
Anyway getting back on topic, the left monitor works, the right monitor does not. I can hear sound and the buttons work and a new game starts but nothing on the screen. After digging around in the back I found a blown fuse which I can trace back to a transistor that is shorting out.
The monitor is a WG, and appears to have a Zenith picture tube. The transistor part number is MJ15023. When I search this bad boy on the internet I come up with this transistor here: http://www.newark.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?SKU=78M7053&CMP=AFC-GB100000001
Am I to assume this is safe to use? It appears to be a Motorola transistor dealing in high power audio. I don't want to do any damage, and again noob here so thought I would ask you guys if this would be ok to replace with this part! If anyone here has replaced one of these before and can help me out I would greatly appreciate it!
