hello. i think i saw a post on here one time with someone else having the same problem but i cant find it again......anyhow........when i turn my twister on it will play fine for a few games or so them the dot matrix display will go blank......then i have to remove the translite and just barely nudge this connector on top of the display. it has 1 red and 1 black connector and then the display will work fine again for another few games........last night i got it where i wanted it and left it on for 3 hours and it didnt turn off.........(not playing it)
is this a common problem on these sega games? is there an easy fix?
thanks in advance
dave

The most common problem with DMD pins is when the display begins to de-gas. This causes the display to draw more and more power from the controller board. When that happens the high voltage section of the controller gets hotter to the point where it burns out.

Your description of the problem sounds more like a loose or bad connection. Playing the game creates vibrations that could cause the DMD to go out. I would start with checking/cleaning all connectors and contact points to the DMD.

im gonna try and clean the connectors and pins.....but it seems like the connector is on there very loosely. i shopped this game all out and left it sit for all winter unplayed and folded up......now i just set it up again and leveled it out and its really fun to play.

If wiggling or nudging that cable brings the DMD back to life then you either have a cold solder joint and/or the male and female connectors need to be replaced.
