SEGA TWISTER 5 balls missing when they are in the trough??

hello
i was trying to fix the membrane switch on my twister today and when i went to power the game on it says 5 balls missing. even if i put a credit on it and press start it says 5 balls missing and goes through a search looking for them. it will then shoot a ball over into the lane and automatically plunge it. all while there are 5 balls in the ball trough it still says 5 balls missing???
any help
thanks
dave

i do not own a twister (dammit) but i assume the launch trough is set up similar to my JP pin......there are 6 balls in the trough by default (5 on your machine). each ball, when not in play, rests over a switch so that the game knows how many balls there are and where they are when not on the playfield.

i'd imagine twister has a similar setup. is that right? if so, check the switches...sounds like something, somewhere, is not telling your pin that the balls are ready for play. that would be one of my first stops........but i know 1/20th (or less. lol) of what these dudes know on here. maybe someone else will have a better idea. hell, maybe mine doesn't even make sense...but that's where i'd start. :)

Actually, your scenario does make sense. The trough switches likely have a common ground and I would start there. If the ground is open then all switches would appear to be open to the MPU. I would point out the specific area to look (wire color and location) if I had a manual with me, or could find one online...
