Has anyone every had a Sega Turbo with no motor sounds? I get the beeps from the upper speakers as I pass cars. I have a known good speaker down low. I have also verified that the amp is good. The sound board has been replaced once. I have another on the way.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mark..

I don't own a Turbo (yet), but I have a soft spot for them. A favorite BITD. So I opened up the schematics and took a look...

Yours upright or cockpit?

Are you interested in doing system-level troubleshooting (ID'ing and replacing bad boards) or component-level troubleshooting (ID'ing and replacing bad components on boards)?

It's an upright. I can do either. I haven't done board level stuff in quite a while. In fact it's been 10 years. I'm sure to be a little rusty.

I do have another sound board on its way. Although I am not 100% sure that is the problem.

Check your harness?

make sure there is continuity in the lines coming from the board to the speaker.

Does the speaker work? Get a crappy pair of headphones and cut the cord, toss the headphone part and expose the two wires. Plug the jack into an Mp3 player or phone or walkman and touch the speaker leads from the newly acquired ghetto jack to the connectors on the speaker. Does sound come out at all? It would probably be faint... but you should hear something.

The upper speaker is working I hear the beeps as I pass cars. The lower speaker has been replaced with a working speaker. I swapped left and right on the amp for a few minutes to test the lower speaker.

I do hear a slight humm from both speakers.

I will be gone for a week. Sorry I will have to drop this until the middle of next week.

Thanks
Mark..
