SEGA Turbo Gas Pedal doesn't reset to zero after pushed down

I think I am gonna fix this minor annoyance once and for all.

I see there is a spring that pulls the pedal back once you let go. It's looks like it is in good shape. I lubed the heck out of everything and it still doesn't reset to zero when you let off the gas. I am gonna grab a new spring to see if it fixes it. Maybe it's just worn.

Anyone have any experience with these pedals? Anything I am overlooking?

The worse of my two Turbos did the same thing. It was either on or off...no throttle control. I think it might actually be that small board. The other one I had was actually cracked and didn't work at all. After flowing solder everywhere, I was able to get it to actually make a connection, but would only go on and then not let up. I think it was just a bad connection, so if your pedal actually goes down and recoils, and it's just not registering right, check that small board for bad solder joints. If the spring just doesn't recoil, then yeah, get a new spring.

I can get the full range of acceleration. The problem is when I lift my foot off the pedal, it doesn't come all the way back up on its own. It doesn't go to zero throttle. If I take my hand a pull the pedal back up all the way it goes to zero.

I am gonna get a better spring hopefully today at Home Depot and give it a shot.

I found a similar spring at Home Depot and it's working fine now. I think this spring is tighter and it really goes back to zero. If I take my foot off the gas in low the car stops. Yeah me. :)
