I've got a buddy with two separate System 16 Shinobi boards. He says both of them get a loud static noise at the end of the first level when the boss throws the fireball and runs.
These are actually different revs of the same board. One is 837-6500-01 and one is -02. Looks like one has a z80B in the D15 area and the other is a locked NEC. Both super caps don't appear to have leaked at all. One is running larger and less ROMs.
First, curious what the difference in board revision is. They are both marked "B Type" but different minor variations. Secondly, it seems mighty curious they'd crash like that in the exact same spot and highly doubtful it's power related since it's always in the same spot of the game.
Any thoughts welcomed. I'm not a big arcade board repairer, just trying to help a buddy out more than anything else on this.
