I did learn that in the Super Hang On 2PCB stack, that the bottom PCB is mainly graphics, and the top is mainly audio.

Glad to hear you managed to piece together a working set.

The top PCB is called the "CPU BD" in the schematics. It contains ALL of the sound circuitry, and the game CPU, code & RAM as well (the main brains of the thing). The bottom PCB is the "VIDEO BD" on the shems, as you discovered. The "video board" also handles input/output.
