I finally got around to fixing that Super Hang On I got in a recentish lot. IT'S ALIVE! But, the brake handle is is BROKEN CLEAN OFF! The brake cable is there and has the little metal end attached to it. I can pull the brake cable and it works fine.

My question is, anyone know if this part is just a standard bicycle or motorbike brake assembly? It looks like it just clamps onto the handlebar. Thanks!

P.S. Why does every Super Hang On that I see in the wild, have the brake lever missing? Did people tear these off?

I'm going to try the local bike shop. I'll let everyone know what I find.

Did anyone ever figure out a correct replacement brake assembly for this? There is hearsay that Honda bike brake assemblies work but can't find any confirmed instance or part that was successfully used.

I am on the lookout for an upright SHO and dreading finding one without the brake assembly that I cannot replace.

Thanks for any help... it would be GREAT if someone posted a hi-res image of the brake assembly.

This is it!

Hey guys, sorry I failed to update this. :) Please see the attachment. It turns out Super Hang On DOES use a standard 1980's Honda motor bike brake handle. I picked this up at a local motorcycle shop and you can see the part number in the picture. There is a short version and a long version. This one is the short version and although it does work well, I feel that the longer version is what SEGA used.

I've since traded this game like two years ago but I've had people ask me about so I'm updating this thread for the masses. This just bolts on and if your cable is still there, clips right into place. :)

Edit: Attachment fail. Doh!
