I've got a Sega Godzilla I'm working on. The flipper coil was burnt to a crisp (for whatever reason, the flipper fuse didn't blow...it was correct value). I checked the MOSFET that drives the coil...it seemed good...EOS was good....I replaced the coil, and I though all was good. After a few hours of play, the flipper coil fuse blew....now I know something's up. I replaced the driver MOSFET and the fuse. I let the game set in demo mode for hours....the flipper coil was nice and cool. I played about 10-15 minutes and the coil is almost too hot to touch. My question...what am I missing? My understanding of the whitestar system....the flippers are on more of a timer (for lack of a better explanation)....and the MOSFET is the "driver". Any ideas? Anyone had this issue on the newer Sega/Stern games?
Thanks!
