I am just about to begin restoring my Star Trek Captain's Chairs. Here are the first few pics: http://picasaweb.google.com/hisnice/Arcade#5508065863588466818

My first question for you is about filling in some gouges and scrapes. I've just started sanding a few of the scratches and a couple of them are deep enough that I'm considering using bondo or something to fill them in.

Anyone have suggestions or experience with this exact plastic?
Thanks!

your filling scrapes and gouges on the plastic?

The problem with bondo; it it has a different texture than the plastic - are you planning on painting the plastic? if so; the bondo would likely take a different look/feel when the krylon fusion is attached.

Unless the gouges are really bad; I'd tend to leave them alone.

They're not terrible, but since none is more than 1/8" across, i bet no one will notice the bondo if i use it. Yes, i'm going to paint it. Maybe 3 coats of paint and sanding will fill them in enough.

Most of the little scratches have sanded right out.
