If you are looking to buy an ST-V board or cab here's a quick test you can do to see if it'll work OK:

Push and hold SW1 on the board (the switch on the left when looking from the side with the JAMMA connector) while powering up the board. This will put you in Factory Test mode.

Push SW2 to scroll down the menu until you get to "Dual-CPU" then press SW1 to run it. If it fails or simply locks up and doesn't return a GOOD message then the 2 SH-2 CPUs will need reflowing. It MUST return a blue text message of "GOOD" - don't mistake the white text saying "Slave-CPU Works" as meaning it's OK.

This is a very common issue with ST-V boards and I just fixed one today that I picked up from the auction in a box of boards last weekend. The problem? 1 broken cap and 2 CPUs that needed reflowing.

Enjoy!
