Why don't I hear more about it? Anyone own one and want to comment on the game play? Can a Captain America PCB be swapped in and out of the cab? I see there is a little bit of a wiring change from the Jamma standard when hooked up for 4 players. I am trying to assemble an Urban-themed 90's arcade out in the garage and I think this game would fit right in. (I would also like to have a CA & The Avengers)

Its fantastic. I just picked one up. Has a sound issue but plays. Loved that game, now I have it. I think there would need to be some hacking of it to make it work. I stuck my turtles board in there and it seemed to work. Buttons were backword if I remember.

Just got one last weekend. It's one I remember playing at the roller skating rink when I was young. I loved it back then because the characters were so big on the beat em up stages.

The character selection is great although random (hawkeye and namor?) and the art throughout the game is really good.

My negatives would be you don't have as many moves at your disposal as you do in similar games like Captain America, and there isn't enough voice work during gameplay.

The cab is really cool though...great art and it's nice that it's shaped differently than the regular tmnt/simpsons/etc cab.

Yeah the character selection is a bit random. I wonder if Hawkeye is like in the Public Domain, or perhaps the cheapest Avenger to get licensed as he also appears in CA & The Avengers, when the 4th position should belong to the Hulk (And Thor should be where the Vision is). Honestly, how in the hell does Hawkeye make both Marvel games from 1991? What are the odds?

I just got one too, part of a package deal to get a Frogger that is really nice ( locals might have seen it advertised on CL). Haven't even played it yet lol.

Well the one I found is not a dedicated cab. Here is the best picture of the cab the seller has posted (seriously):

I still made him an offer, and he has already countered, but I am really not gonna go up much from where I started.

yeah I thought about trying for that one. I know my 4 year old boy would love it. Nice pick up.

Yeah and how the hell is he in the movie, for that matter? Anyway, I loved this game as a kid although it's one of the worst quarter munchers out there. Lots of Marvel-tastic villains! You should get Punisher & Nick Fury to round out your 90's urban beat-em-up collection.

Punisher is so rare though...especially a cabinet with all the art. Definitely the best of the marvel beat em ups though...even if it is only 2 player.

I think 200 is a fair price on it Shawn...

I would agree. I thought about picking it up for $200, but I have so many other projects to deal with already I decided against it. Frankly, I am shocked it didn't sell right away. Not a super common game.

Yeah I saw it when it was first listed, decided I didn't need it and forgot all about it. I did a search again today (not sure why really) and there it was. I emailed the guy, asked him about it and made him an offer based on how much I really need another big ugly project taking up space. He countered with a reasonable price but still more than I wanna pay for the trouble. It's a 200 mile round trip for me, and I would have to do a little fancy footwork to get it into the garage without disrupting my current layout. I can also see that it is no where near gameroom ready and most likely the cab will need at least a rebuild/repaint, at most a full resto. The lack of side art, washed out monitor and the bottom damage alone makes me stand firm on my offer.

Hulk and Thor had their own comics at the time, and Hawkeye, Vision, and Iron Man were all members of West Coast Avengers at the time the game was made.

You should hold out for a 6 player X-men, that is the definitive 90's super hero game to get. DON'T get Superman or any DC comics character games, they ALL suck.

EDIT:
Oh some more to consider:
Moonwalker (3 player)
Cadillacs And Dinosaurs (3 Player)
Judge Dredd (3 Player) (Great Graphics)
Mercs (3 Player)
Captain Commando (4 Player)
G.I. Joe (4 Player)
Sunset Riders (4 Player)
Vendetta (4 Player)

I got my board late last year and it is a fun beat-em up, very cool tech for the day. Like others have said, the art is good. I think it was done by the same team that did Sega's earlier Quartet, it uses one of the songs.

Through a couple of switches on the board, it can be made to play in any standard 2 player3 button-8 way joystick cab. Lone boards are hard to find.

A local arcade has one, but it never gets any play. Captain America and the Avengers is more of a crowd pleaser, but Spidey fans will like this one.

With board compatability, the harness plugs into a filter-type board and that board plugs into the game. Getting another 4 player board to work would not be easy, you'd probably have to re-wire the whole cab. My PCB came with the filter board and a large bit of the harness from the dedicated cab.

I would be more interested if a Golden Axe, Revenge of Death Adder would work in the cab :)
