I'm getting a sega ski super g. The guy said it's hard to get the guy to turn left. Anyone know how the controls work for this game? Everything else is supposed to work fine. Easy fix or hard fix..... Or no clue?

Should be easy to check out... inside test mode, you can see all the input values. It may just need to be calibrated, or it could be that lean is stuck right, but turn works (or vice versa). The controls have lean and turn, and it'd be pretty hard to control if one or the other doesn't work.

Pot is inside main cab at end of swing arm. Simple hard set at 80h in input test and then do the calibration in Volume Setting test.

One of the connectors was broke so it didn't lock in place. I plugged it in and it worked. I'll repin the new connector and I should be good to go. I can't even set it up till I get a new door installed. Too many big games won't fit through my door so my garage has reached max capacity.

Anything else I need to know about this game and/or the controls? This thing was a pain to move.

Yuck, I gotta work on one of these things next weekend. Don't
know what's wrong, only that it's "down".

Re anything else to know, I imagine its old and lacking service. Manual says to make sure gear mating on swing and incline points are lubed. Says to use some spray grease but we never saw these cans at Sega USA. We just used white lithium grease for those. I don't recall of the support shaft bearings had zerks on them but if they do, lube them. There are pressure switches in sides of foot wells. No service there. There are no parts from manufacturer available for any of the moving parts so you will have to get creative if anything fails. Game Bd no issue. I still fix those. Drive Bds can probably be sourced from other games. Would be nice to dump the PTV and get an LED/LCD up there.

Any suggestions on replacing the old projection TV? The screen on mine is pretty bad. Lots of burn and I can't really read the words. I finally got the game and some other games that were in my garage moved in. I have the left and right turns working but it does pull slightly to the right. I'll work on the adjustment tonight or tomorrow.

The covers for the foot wells are pretty beat up. Any suggestions on a replacement?

42" is best size to use on these old 50" PTVs as they will fit inside old box. Pretty much anything you use will require a scan converter ($30 ebay). As for pulling to one side, just make sure in input test, swing is centered physically at 80H as usually will all Sega analog steering inputs. After its physically centered you can do the volume setting test to set software to ranges pots see.

I should have NOS parts for this game. I just need part numbers from the manual so I can check my stock.

Do recommend going the projection TV route or lcd?

I'm going to work on this game later today to get the controls working better. If I have any questions I'll let you guys know.

I'll check the part #'s some time this week on what I need. Thanks!

I got the steering all adjusted and the projection TV picture is much improved after playing around with the setting knobs. I can at least read the words now and you can see where you are going. I probably will still replace the projection but I'd like some help with that. If I go lcd, how would you go about fitting everything inside the cabinet? Also, can someone lead me to the scan converter that was mentioned. This is new to me. Thanks in advance guys! I'm actually having fun with this game.

Source EGA /VGA converter on ebay. There are hundreds of these all about the same costing around $30 average. Run RGB out of Game Bd to converter and then VGA to VGA input on LCD/LED 42". Make sure monitor is instant on so it powers up with video signal and does not require remote or pushing a button to power on.

I started getting a driver board error code FF on boot. Hitting the test button clears it and the game plays fine. Any ideas?

Check connections to the drive board and maybe clean it and check for bad traces. Hope this one doesn't go bad.
