Does anyone know of what games are compatible with Sega's Crazy Taxi? If anyone knows for sure that would be great and I'm also looking to buy any loose carts that are available.

when you say compatible you mean have the same pinout for the shifter? If so, Initial D series, and maybe Sega Club Kart. I think are they only other games the shifter will work without re-wiring.

I guess I need to be more specific. When I say compatible, I mean plug another Naomi cart in without any rewiring or modifications. I didn't even think about the shifter..... If there were other games available that would only require a shifter mod, then I would probably consider it.

18 wheeler uses a different steering mech.

I've seen people claim to have both games in one cabinet. Someone has a crazy taxi on ebay that comes with 18 wheeler as well. Not sure if they kept the original steering mech in it or not though.

Wish I could be more help. I want to say 18 wheeler had more buttons then crazy taxi(maybe it was the other way around). Besides the shifter this would be my concern. Good luck either way.

well I have a CT upright, and at one time had a JS cart, then went with net booting it, with a naomi 2, and with the CT I could play all of them, just some werent true plug and play so to speak

from memory :
CT obviously all good
Jambo Safari - the lasso was backwards, not a major pain unless player tries to follow onscreen instructions (I did make an adapter that reversed the shifter, was an inline plug in and unplug when you wanted to play)
18 Wheeler (lacking reverse and radio, I think view change was HI/LO) was playable but tough
Club Kart - from memory was fine, wasnt a great game
ID1/2/3 - had to play in AUTOmatic, some other features lacking, but was playable I recall
King of Route 66 - could play but no mic, and issues similar to 18Wheeler, again also CT wheel is 270degree only, and 18Wheeler and KoR66 is 360degree so again causes slight play issues

I havent had a CT or Naomi 1 driver for a while, I use my Outrun 2 for net booting with Chihiro/Naomi now and still run into issues with some functions, like Crazy Taxi High Roller wont play in OR2 cab properly, as the D/R is messed up :(

hope that helps, but isnt 100% as thats from memory

Jambo safari uses different pinout for the shifter, 18 Wheeler will work in a crazy taxi cab but you will not get the full range of steering.

I had a net dimm and soon realised how not compatible the games are without modification

I should be able to tell you some of the problems soon as I just got a Naomi system with 18 wheeler that was missing the steering column. So I just got a Crazi Taxi control panel as I was hoping to be able to play both games. And when I found out about netbooting I decided to try as many games as I could so it sounds like I will run into all of the problems mentioned such as the shifter being wired differently for some games. Guess we would have been better off sticking to joystick based games. ;-)
