Sega NAOMI 2/Wild Riders game freezes

Wow. Not sure how I missed this post. Voltages at front of Game Bd cage must be 3.30 and 5.10. I have been set on recommending these voltages since we started producing Naomi in 99. Everything forward follows same standard. As for freezing or lock ups, you have bad buffers on the ROM Bd. Unless its corroding but i don't think thats an issue or it would be dead by now. Look at 16 bit buffers. There are nine. Not just 16245. There are also 16373 (which fail more often than 245). If there is an f symbol for Fairchild, you have bad buffers. No question about it. Replace all nine. If you are not extremely familiar with fine pitch SMD rework, don't even try or you will be looking for a replacement pcb, which you will then have to send in to have buffers replaced. Also, do not do anything with the heatsinks / fans over any of the BGAs on CPU Bd aside from blowing compressed air to clean them. If you try to do anything with these heatsinks, you will brick the CPU bd. Sorry but i saw something on that earlier in string. Your best option is to send me this ROM Bd and get the buffers changed. I have repaired thousands of Naomi and Naomi 2. Nothing really gets by me on these.
Looks like an f on some and then an st on others?

Dude it was totally in the box with wild riders! Ha ha. You paid for the weight to ship it to me... Probably an extra half pound ha ha.
Idk. I re-used that box but no clue what that even is. I had bought a Naomi cart so that was probably already in there lol

Lovely. I was looking at originators post I thought, and did not see CA so I thought it was someone else.

Manuals wiring dia shows pin 19 at pull and pin 21 as push. Thats on the larger black connector.
So I was able to get my hands on another Naomi 2 board, was just about to send wild riders to you but I thought I had to try this out since you don't see Naomi 2 boards pop up on offer up very often. Anyways... It totally worked!!!! So now this has got to prove that it's my Naomi 2 board right? Now I feel like I need to find another Naomi 2 game to decide if my board just hates wild riders or if it's anti all Naomi 2 titles.

I replaced the ST ones quite a while ago. Before I learned to change all f parts. The ones marked f are most likely the issue. If you give me serial number on back of pcb I can tell when and who it was done for.

Serial number is bdge-01a0047.
Ok so one of my Naomi 2s when you take out the game cart it looks like this and the other one looks completely different? Are there a bunch of different models or is one of my boards missing something major?

???.... If you remove the communication bd you will see the Naomi 2 CPU Bd. Notice there is no plastic white ring on WR unit. And there is a plastic white ring on this other (Initial D) unit.

I did notice that! Thought it was a much nicer trim piece ha ha. OK so the one board has a communications board and the other doesn't? And that communications board was used for game likes initial d?

One is Wild Rider. One is Initial D. Wild Rider is not a linkable game. Initial D is a linkable game. A linkable game required a communication bd so it can ... link.
