Recently acquired a Naomi Universal with Wild Riders kit at the last auction.
I'm working on my dead Naomi 2 motherboard and need to replace 2 small fans on the vid processors.
My question is this:
These originally came with: 3 wire, 5v, .09A fans which I cant seem to find available.

Is it safe to replace them with fans that have a .08A or .12A rating (more or less amps)?
These seem to be around for less than $8 each

What should I install for more cooling/reliability? Where can I get some?

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Look for the one that has the same dimensions, especially thickness, and the faster CFM rating. The current difference is negligible.

While you have it apart, check the memory backup capacitor. I haven't had a NAOMI 2 on the bench yet to know for sure, but the NAOMI 1 absolutely suffers from that cap leaking and eating traces.

Thanks for the info channelmanic. I appreciate your help from here and posts on sega-naomi.com and your repair logs.
Had to look up negligible: the difference would be so small that it is insignificant
meaning it is ok to use fans of a higher or lower amperage.
Will be ordering fans and the leaky cap fix and post results.
Thanks once again channelmanic. Have a happy new year

You're welcome!

Thanks for the pr0ps! I have my repair logs out there in the hopes that it helps folks keep their old systems running. (and... as a sort of advertising for what I can do.) :D

Cool, thanks!

I have a few orders and repairs that will be shipping out tomorrow evening.
