a buddy of mine just got a pair of sega daytona usas.. both have the nanao ms26u or whatever it is in them..(that 25 inch duel res sega used alot in the early mid 90s)

one has vertical collapse.. it was on on cold powerup but started collapsing ahortly after. sometimes you can give it the old fonzy and make it half work again...

i know it probhably needs caps and has some cold solder connections as well but i remember something about a cap leaking acid onto a resistor??
mod?? i think it was you that had the answer. At one point i had this in my repair files but i cant find it to save my life.

thanks guys

Ive got the same monitor in my virtua cop2 which I just happen to be parting out. Let me know if you need anything.

Yeh it was an electrolytic cap and a couple of little 1/8 watt resistors right next to that cap that go bad. I know the solution is supposed to be in that Star Tech Journal monitor book that Jomac from Australia wrote.

Here ya go:

Replace C433 ( 10uf 50v ) and R433 ( 2.2K 1/4w ) , if still no deflection replace R436 ( 15K 1/4w )

Since the monitor in question currently is under my roof, I also thank you guys. There's a good chance Cady will get this eventually, anyhow. ;)

theres not a chance in hell now bieng i replaced the parts in question (one resistor was 300 k ohms instead of 2.2k!!!!) and there was lots of krappy solder in that area

WHy is there no chance in hell im getting it now? because the pic is beautiful..

oh, and btw we played a LINKED game to celebrate.. yep, on uprights.. :p
