I'm thinking of buying a Sega Model 2B arcade board to hook up and toy around with, I'd like to just use it with my RetroTink 4k, not use it in a dedicated cabinet or buy a new video monitor just for it. From what I understand it has a weird video output of 496x384 24Hz progressive scan, I think its supposed to be in an EGA like format but uses one sync line instead of separate Hsync & Vsync. It also looks like the audio needs it's own separate amplifier, but that should be too difficult to figure out.

Has anyone ever hooked up one of these to a RT4K before or have any idea if it would be compatible?

I think maybe you meant 24 kHz horizontal sync frequency (24Hz wouldn't make sense).

Can't find any solid info on whether it would sync to that, but you could probably contact RetroTink and ask them.

How are you planning on hooking it up though?

Lol, yeah I meant 25kHz.

I was hoping maybe someone already tinkered around with this and I wouldn't have to ask RetroTink directly, but I could do that and report back.

As for hookups, I was planning on making a custom harness to connect audio and video directly to the RT4K using this pin-out I found, making Neo Geo controller adapters for the inputs, and making an adapter to hook up my Mean Well RT-125A power supply to it.

Then once I confirm its working, I'll swap the roms out to convert it to Sonic the Fighters with this rom map I found. It should be much easier to test inputs that way.

Oh nice! I'll see if I can test that.

Thanks for finding that.
