Sega model 2 - exchange ROM to different game possible?

I aquired a "Sega Model 2A-CRX" with Manx TT Super Bike. Is it possible to remove the roms from the rom-board (http://segaretro.org/File:Model2a_rom.jpg) to exchange for another game? My ultimate goal is Daytona USA (from the older "Sega Model 2").
Is the game data only on this "rom-board" or also elsewhere in the system?
Or is it possible to get somewhere the rom board of Daytona USA? Thanks!

For the sega model 2 series, you can interchange some of the parts sometimes. However, the filter boards and wiring harness end up differing, making the effort pointless anyway.

If your goal is to bring back a game using parts from another, with more details this is a topic that could continue.

If your goal is to swap around ROM boards to play different games, look up system16.com and make sure both of the games are the same hardware revision. Then look up the filter boards and wiring harness to make sure they are the same.

2A CRX list:

In reality, you will find very few swap candidates because Sega didn't typically make two of the "same" game at the same time as they would compete with each other.

For example in the gun game world:
Virtua Cop is 2
Virtua Cop 2 is 2A CRX
HOTD is 2C CRX

Virtua Cop 2 and HOTD are "whole" drop in replacements of each other (same from the filter board out), but on the inside are a different.

Thank you guys for the answers, it was more of a hypothetical question than a real one, because I have this machine (Manx TT twin cabinet) in near complete state (I am missing one whole monitor part and the top marquee part; the motorcycles are beaten up but everything else is there) and I think I will try to restore it to the completeness one day.

But good to know that this isn't going to be my dream goal - Daytona USA. I do have the skills to make it (if it was possible to get a "2" game on "2A-CRX"), and to adapt some steering wheel and other controlls to this Sega Model 2A, but I also want to preserve this Manx TT. Too bad it takes so much space, probably I will have to sell this thing because of that soon. (I succesfully made a Virtua Racing "cabinet" with only the guts of a VR Twin http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OGgQ7dM4QXU/VgMUFHyvsvI/AAAAAAAAAs8/WaitRos17Ow/s1600/IMG_9431.JPG )

One last question though, anybody can recommend a working Daytona USA emulator? MAME is lagging and skipping on my computer...

If you want the real thing, don't settle for mame. (For lag/screen issue, did you try a CRT monitor instead of an LCD? Or even different LCDs?)

You'd be better off building a pile of parts into some "mini" racer cab.

For the rare and impossible to find games (I'm looking at you Dragon Gun and Rolling Thunder 2), you may not have a choice.

Your game is obtainable. :)

Since you already are set up for bikes you should find a Motor Raid ROM Bd. You could play Sega Rally but it would be a little weird.
