Sega Le Mans 24: Feeler for troubleshooting help and/or sale interest

Hi everyone, in case you missed my intro thread, I'm a pinball guy just visiting the realm of arcade games, because a friend had a death in the family and asked me for some help looking at some games she now has to deal with.

I apologize in advance for the pictures -- the room was full of stuff (the deceased was something of a hoarder) and I didn't have great access. Here's what I was able to ascertain:

Second game is a Sega Le Mans 24, two side-by-side driver game. On the back of the coin unit, I found a few connectors were disconnected, so I hooked them up and then powered it on ... the #2 screen turned on, and was attempting to connect to the other one (I assume, as it was checking network) ... after a minute or so it came back with "Network Error". (See photo at link below.)

I think the #1 screen was turned on, because I could see some "Insert Coin" burn-in, but it was otherwise essentially blank. (That would only shows up when it's on, right?)

I was unable to physically get behind the machines to ensure everything was hooked up right or look for any obvious issues. The room was packed solid with stuff and it just wasn't possible this trip. (She's promised to have the room more cleared out next time I come over to help.)

I was able to stand up over the top (the cover was off #1, and I opened up #2 just for a comparison peek) and look down, but didn't see much, basically what you see in the pics.

Here are the photos: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4wliok4gbdlme6g/AADXX3VYR3uKIgI9tUJRJinea?dl=0

So, my questions to you:
1) On my next trip, do you have any suggestions what to look for to try and get them talking and playing?
1) Is this game worth the time/trouble to attempt to fix?
3) Is there anyone who might be interested in buying this game, either in its existing condition and/or if I'm able to fix it?

Thanks in advance for any help. Before I visit her again, she intends to have more of the room cleared out so I'll be able to have better access for pics & troubleshooting.
(Note: the other game is a 39" version of CarnEvil, reference this thread: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=380182 )

Note: The shroud/cover for the driver 1 machine is there. Also, big light unit that goes on top, with the game name, is also there. Just not pictured.
