Hello.. I'm new to Arcade restoration but reasonably handy and eager to get my game operating again.
I bought a Sega Hang On game the other day. I got it home and turned it on and everything worked great. I let my kid play it for a while while I cleaned the garage. After an hour I kicked her off so I could start cleaning the game.
I opened the coin door and tried turning up the sound. I had no sound and the test button wasn't working. I also noticed the free credit button that was added to the side wasn't working, so I inserted the loose wire into the switch. As I did that the whole thing shut down.
I checked the fuses and the 3amp and 4 amp fuses both blew. I replaced those with the proper fuses, turned it all back on and the wierdness begins.
When I turn it on I get any of these screens...It cycles through most of these every time the power button is pushed.

Insert Coin Screen but Upside Down
Sometimes I get the Insert Coin screen and the Sega Logo starts to come across the screen, (again everything is upside down).
I noticed when I do get the Insert Coin screen I can usually get a credit to show up when I hit the credit button, but only one credit then the screen freezes.
I've been checking for loose wires, connecting and reconnecting plugs in hopes of finding a loose connection. So far no luck. I do now have sound coming out of the speakers although it's only static. I get this feeling that whatever popped the fuse reset something and I feel like it needs to be "rebooted" again. The real bummer is I never got to play the game. My kid did and she keeps asking when I'm going to fix it so she can play it again.(
Any help or guidance is much appreciated.
