I'm in a try to save my sega/gremlin Carnival PCB.
First i had a ram issue and I follow "RAM was a MK4015/MK4027 a 4116 should have worked.. it did not. ordered NOS MK4027s"
So I ordered a MK4027 to replace one of the MK4015 with broken legs. The problem is that it become very hot.
SInce the screen is totally green, i have no more the yellow square indicating the ram problem. I hope i wouls save it.
The question : could i mix 4015 and 4027 ram or I have to find a 4015 ?

MK 4015 and MK4027 are pin-compatible.
If the new one runs hot, it's defective. Looks like DOA.

mixed ram

The saler tell me that it's not good to mix 4015 and 4027.
What do you think about it?

4116 won't work in place of 4015/4027 in most applications... 4015/4027 latch and hold data output after /CAS is deasserted and 4116s don't.

4015 and 4027 should mix just fine.
