Does anyone remember an arcade machine that was the Sega Genesis equivilent of Playchoice 10? I vaguely remember playing one of these at Pizza Hut as a kid, and it had stuff like Altered Beat, Golden Axe, etc., all the original Genesis ports. Does anyone remember these machines? How hard are they to find? Does anyone have a list of games that were released? Were they JAMMA, or something unique?

Sega Mega Play, it used a cart based board. The carts looked like Mega Drive carts but aren't compatible with the MD or Genesis. Our bowling alley had one, the version of Sonic is missing a lot of things present in the Genesis version. There were only about a dozen games, Sonic 1 and 2, Shinobi, Columns, Streets of Rage... Nothing that isn't available on the Genesis.

Yeah, the Mega tech / play machine looks correct. These must be pretty hard to come by, no? I haven't seen one on here ever, and it doesn't look like they come up on eBay either. Are the games exactly the same as the genesis versions, or are they different?

See post #3 above. :) The only one I remember playing was Sonic and it was missing a lot of things in the Genesis version.

I've seen a few over the years but never had any interest in one since it's just a huge Genesis. The last one I passed up, late 90s, was $100.
