I have a semi working Star Trek. The game plays but the monitor will go out. Some times after a few minutes and other times it will stay on for an half an hour or so. (Game stays on and plays blind)
Here is what I have done. I have caped the monitor and replaced, with the correct values, the transistors. Re-flowed the header pins. I did Mongo's power transformer mod.
I have pulled apart the power supply, on P4 pins 4 and 6 are pretty burnt. I will replace the connector.
Now on to my questions.
Can the power supply be the issue for the monitor? Does the supply even supply any power to the monitor?
Why are the P4 4 and 6 pins burnt and what causes then to burn. Could this be related to my monitor issues?
And lastly what other parts should I replace on the G80 power supply?
Thanks in advance to any assistance to get my Star Trek SOS up and running fully.
Love the game and can not wait to get to play a full game!!
