Hi. Anyone know much about Sega sound boards? I got this Frankenstein that on power-up will say "I will have revenge!" and then after that no sounds whatsoever. I seem to have all the proper voltages on the sound board. I did have to replace the bridge rectifier in the power supply prior to even getting the game to boot up. Thought it might be the ribbon cable but it isn't. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have the sound issue when playing the game or just on start up? Read that it is common for it to do that on start up.

What version of the CPU ROM do you have? I have a version 1.2 CPU ROM and my machine boots with the "FRANKENSTEIN!!!!" callout. I'm wondering if you have ROM corruption or a bad connection to the sound board.

I would suggest two things;

1. Reseat and/or the ribbon cable going from CPU board the Sound Board
2. Do a CRC32 check on your sound ROMs and compare them to the ones available online. You could have some sort of ROM corruption.

You may be interested to know that I had no display on my Frankenstein. Turned out to be a corrupted EPROM. No idea how that occurred, but I am wondering if that is also the cause of your issues.
