I have a Sega Eliminator which powers up and makes the correct sounds when the fire and thrust buttons are pressed, but there is no picture on the screen. It worked when I first got it, then it took longer and longer to warm up, then finally stopped working.
I am in eastern Pennsylvania. I know very little about electronics, circuitry, or X-Y monitors.
I took the game (this is one heavy SOB) to Henry at NY Party Works in Deer Park, Long Island, New York. He told me the problem was not the monitor, but he did not have the parts to fix it. After sitting there over a year, I went and got the machine and moved it to a friend's house in Long Island. A second person looked at it and told me the monitor IS the problem - he could power the machine up and get the correct sounds, but again, no picture on the screen. He told me the only way to fix it is to replace the monitor, and knows of no source for a replacement.
This is an Electrohome 19 inch color XY monitor. I do not have the unit with me (still at my friend's house) so I cannot read the labels. However, I did take photos before I left the unit at Party Works and I have posted some here.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to getting this thing repaired?
Thanks,
Greg
