I posted a while ago about an issue I was having with the VR on one of the Daytonas. Thanks to Mother Nature dumping 40+ inches of snow last week I finally got a chance to reassemble the machines after the move to the basement. Here's what I have...

I completely cleaned both machines (the one has a very slight VR issue..the other is unplayable)..cleaned all the ground...reseated all chips and power connector (which..holy sheit, are there a ton of them). I tested both PSs under no load..in other words I disconnected the PS from the game and powered it up. The voltages were almost identical at both machines...12.8 5.15 and -5.15 and the adjustment seemed to work fine. I then tested the PSs under load, with the games running, at the power supply (not at the board). The voltages were significantly higher at 13.7 5.85..I don't remember what the minus was. From what I've read here major VR issues seem to be PS related..both machines look like they have original 'Peter Csomething or other' PSs

So while the game was running I was getting different light sequences from the diagnostic LEDs from game to game.

The big difference is when the left side (working game) had all 5 green LEDs on and all 5 red LEDs off..the non working side had Green LEDs 1 and 5 on..2,3 and 4 off. It also had red LED1 on and 2-5 off.

I DLed the manual from Sega but it has no reference of the LED lights

Can any point me in the direction as to what these LEDs mean?

My plan is to switch PS from game to game and see what happens but I won't be able to get to that till the weekend

Thanks!!

Peter Chou power supply is not original daytona games psu.

swapping power supply is good idea. if it fails, then try to re-clean CPU board (the one with 5 green and red LEDs). Make sure to inspect those QFP chips (large asic chip) to see if it's pins are okay. Because these chips are the one responsible for rendering to video bd, and the red leds indicator can be interpreted as one/more of these chip are somehow, not working. If you still can get into test mode, try to get in TGP test, this should shows something :D

you won't find any documentation on what those leds means in manuals. it is for technician for repair purposes.
