Would anyone like to share their opinion on these 2 cabinets. I'm thinking of picking 1 cabinet up, and I have a choice. Blast City is more expensive (comes with Virtua Striker 2 ver 2000)

Is there much difference between the 2? I already have an Exceleena Blue.

Cheers

The Blast should have the power supply and I/O board to run Naomi (JVS).

You should make sure you find out what monitors are in the cabs. They sometimes get replaced, so you don't know for sure what's in it. The most desirable are the 'Nanao'. The lesser quality are 'Wei-Ya'.

I bought my Blast off eBay, and didn't ask what monitor was in it. It ended up being a flat tube with Wei-Ya chassis. Although the monitor isn't terrible, I would have passed on it and tried to find one with a Nanao or offered a slightly lower price if I had known.

Is that the only really positive? I like the blast city coz it has a naomi board with it, and virtua striker of course. The guy selling them has an empty astro city as well, which I might pick up as well.

Design plays a part in my opinion, I like the Blast City cabinet better than the Astro. I'd trade my Astro for a Blast City anyday and I love my Astro.

Is it pretty obvisous to spot the difference. Not sure how much access I can get to the back on the unit and the guy I am dealing with doesn't know a lot :(

Is this what I should be looking for? Or is that part of the cab, rather than the monitor?

Go here and familiarize yourself with the 2931 monitor. The 2933 is almost identical. They are both Nanao tri-sync monitors. The 2932 is a single hi-res. All should have rounded screens. NO FLAT! The back panel pops off the Blast City and gives you a decent view of the chassis.

The pic you took is of the remote board (smaller square with three buttons). If it looks like that then there is a good chance that it is a 2931 monitor. It also looks like this is or once was a Bass Fishing cabinet.

I didn't take that pic, but I have been out again to have a look and that's what was there when I opened the CP.
The guy selling them is running a business, and is really busy, so I haven't had a chance to get ot the back of the machine to check it out. To be honest it doesn't both me too much. It's running Virtua Striker 2 ver 2000 which is a Naomi 1 board, so I'm gonna be pretty happy whatever I get. He has the Astro cities a lot cheaper, so I might be persuaded to get 2 machines if I get tempted with a good price :)
