I have a Wonderboy Sega 16A board which I recently required. The board is having graphical issues and I would like to have it repaired by some knowledgable about these boards. The previous owner modified the board so that it is supposed to play in Jamma (I really wish they had not done that). I tried the System 16 adpater and it does not work. Any recommendations of shops or members or can repair System 16A boards? This is a great game and I would like to see it working again. Thanks!

Sure - Thanks for the help. I will grab some pictures of the modificaiton and post them. Basically, they re-wired the jamma connector leads on the bottom part of the board. I should have pics up in just a few minutes.

I really appreciate the help.

Wow... Why the FUCK would anyone do that?? I can't see many cuts on the board, but they must be there somewhere. You'd probably end up running just as many jumper wires if you were to repair it.

A pic of the graphics issues would be helpful.

Here are some pictures of the problems. As you will see, the colors look right. It's just that the screen is wavey and occasionally rolls as well. Interested in your thoughts!

I think I recognize that issue! Looks like your video signal isn't grounded.

You can run a jumper from one of the ground pins to pin 14 on the parts side to verify this..... Actually, I just looked at the modification work and I am 99.99% sure this is your issue.

I would still look at having someone restore the board to proper wiring or put some kind of sticker on the parts side to make sure anyone who sees it knows it has been modified for JAMMA.

Brian.

Hey Brian:

Thanks a lot. I will give it a try and let you know how it goes.

If it works, I will be one happy dude.
