I'm finally getting around to work on a Seeburg AY160 that I picked up a few months ago.. I just bought the manuals and a tube set for the selection receiver. In the manual it talks about using a Seeburg Test lamp. I've looked on ebay and can't find anything by that name. A google search turned up an old article about making one using a led and a resistor, but now I can't find that info.. Anyone know anything about a Seeburg Test Lamp?

The test lamp assembly is simple. You can build it yourself.

2 Radio Shack # 64-3095 Pin crimp terminals (about $2 a pack of 10)

1 piece of 2 conductor zip or lamp cord or just 2 pieces of wire about 6 inches long

1 bayonet lamp socket

1 incandescent miniature operating on 24 to 28 volts.

Solder one wire to each terminal on the lamp socket.

Install light bulb in socket.

Crimp pin terminals onto other end of wires.

There you have it....a Seeburg test lamp.

Thanks Ken.. That will work on a DC circuit, or do I need to find a 24VDC lamp?

I found somewhere that said to use a DC neon lamp and a resistor.. Supposedly the voltages are in the 60-80VDC for most of the read in/out circuits..
