Does anybody know who repairs the cd unit on a Seeburg SCD-1? Does anybody have one tested and working for sale?
Thanks
Aaron

Repair parts for the cd player are no longer available. I scoured the country for a long ass time and came up with hundreds of these players that were all dead but only one company had a rebuilt one for my machine. It was their last one with no hope of getting any more parts. Good luck with your search, this will be a tuff one.

Thanks for the info Guys, I figured I would probably be S.O.L., but thought I would ask. I did see the conversion kit(s), I was just hoping to keep it original.

aahhh you still remebered me Mr. Wu. :) And to think I just picked up another one, you have got to love the sound that comes out of the Seeburgs ...sigh somedays.

Problem with mine- at first the cd player would not respond after you made a selection, you could manually move the pick up , and it would than return to home, but that was it. I removed the cd unit, and got it in to test mode and using buttons on back PCB tried to get it to go through all of its motions. Found that there must be a gear or something stripped, when it starts to go down and pick up a disc, it stops and makes a grinding sound. Also I can not get cd player to spin up.
Is there hope that someone may have parts and/or knowledge to repair??
Thanks for any info
Aaron

you need a new gear. page 41 of the manual. If some one tries and lift the loading arm manual the plastic loading gear breaks internally. the inside looks like as if you cut a snail shell in half. Not sure about the spin up problem I have one I am working on now.

sony part number 4-915-164-01 loading gear.

PM Wu and see if his partner has one for sale. though You are better off sending the unit into Wu and have Mike go threw and replace and calibrate the unit.
