So here are some pics of a juke I am considering restoring. It is in a world of hurt. I posted earlier, but now that I have seen it and have pics I'm looking for some advice. Primarily with the electronics. (see pics) Are the tubes easy/cheap to get. I need to get a good estimate to the gal asking me to do this. Thoughts?

Ken, where dose your expertise end?? I have read your posts and think I know what you like to work on and then you pull this kind of info out of the closet. WOW!

Ron Rich over at the jukebox forum of Phonoland.com is the Seeburg expert and has written several excellent Seeburg repair books.

Suggestion: Have all the tubes in the jukebox tested first. Chances are they are probably ok. The amplifier and selection receiver need to be recapped first before doing anything else with the jukebox.

Ken, It's funny, before I read any of these posts today I was telling a friend about how you seem to have all the right answers readily available. And then I saw this. Thanks for the help. one of these days I may have to send you a cheese basket from Wisconsin.

Depends on what skills you have and how far of a restoration you want to do. If the box is complete and no one else has already hacked it up in a botched repair and if you can re-cap the amp and selector and have enough mechanical aptitude to fix the mechanism you might be able to get it going without spending much cash

On the cosmetic side most of the repro parts are available for this box but can be pricey. If you know woodworking you can re-laminate the cabinet.

As Ken mentioned Ron Rich is the man!

I have never restored something at this level, but I am confident in my abilities. What I am not sure of are things like. what type of laminate should I use, where to get it, and where to have the tubes tested. I will be buying the DVD I saw on an earlier post. The first thing I gotta do is finish up this quote and see if this is a go.
Thanks for the posts.
