I have a friend of the family who asked me to take a look at an older Seeburg juke that he had that no longer worked. He had no idea what model it was besides a 100. After a bit of research online comparing pictures I determined it was a 77D Topaz. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place online that has the service manual as a PDF file or something similar. I rather not pay for it; I know I'm a cheap-ass.

The main problem so far is that, as soon as the machine is powered on it grabs the 45 that is front of the mechanism, spins it for about 5 seconds, replaces it back into its home position, and keeps repeating this process.

I have very limited experience with EM machines and none what-so-ever when it comes to jukes, so I really don't know what the process is suppose to be. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

You want to jump over to the jukebox forum at www.phonoland.com and talk to Mr. Ron Rich.
He's THE Seeburg expert and not only has written several books on how to repair Seeburg jukeboxes, but has also manufactured some replacement circuit boards for them too.

PDF not available.

You want to purchase this manual from either www.victoryglass.com or www.always jukin.com

# 60-3427 (R-367) Seeburg 100-77d Topaz Installation, Operation, and cabinet parts manual, 44 pages, $26.50

A service manual was never issued. You will need to buy some of Ron Rich's Seeburg repair manuals to work on it.

Ken,
Thank you very much so far for the info. My question is, if this isnt the service manual what information is found in it? Also will this help me troubleshoot the issues I am having? Finally will it at least show me the theory of operation for this juke.

Thanks,
Tim

The installation & operation manual just tells you how to install the machine on location, how to connect external accessories (like remote volume controls, and speakers), how to load records & change title strips, etc.

For service, you really need to talk to Ron Rich. He's basically the last Seeburg tech out there who really knows the machines inside & out.

Ken,
I contacted Ron on phonoland and even told him that I got his info from you, and to put it nicely he seemed like a jerk. He told me that I needed to buy his book and not to PM him. I had posted a thread and waited over a week to get a responce, when I didn't I sent him a PM. I guess I will just need to buy his book and hope that helps take care of the issues I am having with the juke.

Hello Tim,

I know that Ron had some problems over the last weeks with his computer.
He is the best person to talk to with regards to Seeburg jukeboxes.
I would buy his books if I were you and also pull down any information regarding Seeburg fro the late Tony Miller's website, it is still hosted by one of his friends.
