Last night we had a problem with someone stealing the balltops off of some of our machines at the arcade. This is really more of an annoyance than a problem since I just have to go through and order replacements. Is there a temporary way of securing the balltops on top of the sticks, or am I SOL on this one?

There should be a groove in the bottom of the shaft. Hold the ball top with one hand and twist a flathead with the other to secure the ball. Otherwise you can always use super glue!

I use locktite to stop them coming loose under normal play conditions, you may want to experiment with some weak glues to see if one can hold them on their a bit tighter but still be broken under pressure from some multigrips ect..

I have found that a baseball bat is good for securing ball-tops.

Btw, this problem is why usa arcades use bat tops one piece sticks.
