I was about to place 4 1/4x2" carriage bolts to secure the battlezone step to the cabinet, but I noticed there appear to be 4 Tee nuts inside the step that seem to be threaded. I'm thinking the proper bolts that secure that step are somewhere in between 1/4 and 3/8". 5/16??
I was just going to use 4 carriage bolts, secured with nuts between the cabinet and step to secure them, then more nuts on the inside of the cabinet, however I think they approached this a better way. I referred to the docs but there was nothing in there about any hardware for the step that secures it to the cabinet.
Does anyone know for certain what size/kind of bolt is used offhand (carriage/hex)? Were there spacers in between the cabinet and the countersunk holes of the step?
Thanks in advance for any of your knowledge.

Was just re-assembling my BZ step tonight, after taking my time (a couple years...) restoring the step. (It was low priority, as I'm plenty tall enough not to need it.)

Anyhow, as it had been so long since disassembly, I was wondering about the proper way to attach it (just like the OP). I also consulted the manual, but came up empty. Eventually, I found a baggie with the hardware I'd removed from it forever ago. Googling, I found this old thread...

It is, in fact, attached with 1/4"-20 x 2" LG carriage bolts, through the inside of the step. The outside of the step is counterbored to provide room for more hardware: a flat washer, a split lock washer, and a nut. Then the whole step assembly, with the 4 bolts sticking out, go through the holes in the cabinet bottom, and are finally fastened with fender washers, flat washers, and 4 more nuts.

Oh, and those are NOT T-nuts inside of the step. T-nuts have a threaded body. The hardware in those holes is just a flat plate with a square hole (to mate with the shank of the carriage bolt). See attached photo.
