QUESTION: Will this be running all the time? If not, did I miss where you plan to install the on/off? Is there a RESET/NEUTRAL so you can push all the books in and have it look like a normal bookcase?

Great question. Unfortunately, there is no neutral position. We experimented with having one, but it forced the motors to move too many books at the same time (which causes them to bind up).

I'll keep them running when I have guests over. They'll be hooked up to a power strip inside the game room.

What'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis? I posted an update last weekend- which is my normal pace for this wacky project

But yeah, last weekend was a little crazy. I got married last Friday and my wife graduated with her 2nd Master's degree on Saturday ...but I managed to still get quite a bit of work done on Sunday.

I'll post pics tomorrow- hopefully video too.

You guys are gonna love how it turned out.

Funny you should say that. I think my next project is going to be a bust that seemingly follows you as you walk by. This would go on the wall that leads to the bookcase. Something like this guy from The Haunted Mansion:
