(this is a video)

Yup, this is my 2nd cab! This time around it's a Galaxian cocktail. I wasn't going to.... but... :) The video says it all!
One thing I forgot to mention is I'm having some new glass art printed by ThisOldGame. I am planning on them printing it on sticky vinyl and sticking it over the original glass.

(counting the seconds until Adam chimes in)

Edit: I also forgot to mention, I got this about a week and half ago but didn't post about it.

Right on man! The addiction is taking off fast! LOL Soon you wont have any more room and a storage locker full of games like the rest of us.
Great score for $100 Bux! :)

Wow Jr. good score there. Can't go wrong with a nice cocktail for $100.

You've scored 2 working games for less then my first (no game included) cabinet! Hell that's what reading and persistence pays off.

Good job on the second score. You are getting good prices on these machines. Take your time on the restores and portion your money out properly to get the stuff that will look and work right. You cannot go wrong going through Rich. Now start contributing in the restore section and soon history will be history

Nice video, and nice cabinet.

What kind of monitor do you have in there?

Likely your jittery image is due to cracked or cold solder joints on the sync input line.

Let's see some pics of the insides!!

Thanks, everyone! You guys are right, ThisOldGame is the way to go. Rich and Kendra are some of the nicest people I've met and they're art is phenomenal.

Galaxian is really neat in cocktail form, I have to say.
I'll try and take pics of the inside later today. If I remember correctly it's an Electrohome, but I have to double check.

I'll be going to the powdercoaters in the next few days to have the rusty return buttons sandblasted, but my question is, do you have to take the whole mech holder?

Thanks guys.

very nice cocktail. I have a lot of fond memories of cocktail Ms. Pacman and Galaga :) That would be a kind of kitchen table i would love!

For just the return buttons? No. But the coin return cups I believe are part of the door.

If I may make a suggestion? Take the return buttons apart and polish them by hand with #0000 steel wool and wadding polish, or use a parts tumbler. If you sand blast a plated part like that it's going to take off the rust AND the plating leaving a bare, sandy looking surface that will quickly rust again. And unless they're going to chrome plate it again for you powder coat will probably not be the right thickness and result in sticky return buttons (same result with spray paint).

You don't understand. I'm asking if you can take the return button parts out and how.
I just need to get the rust off. They wouldn't powdercoat it, just sandblast.

Those controls are interesting... I don't remember those from the cocktail Galaxian I used to play bitd, are they original?

Yes, they are original. I don't know much about them but I do know enough to say they are original.

no what he's saying is that even the return buttons have a coating on them. It's just a silver metallic coating and sandblasting will remove this coating leaving a dull metal look so sand blasting might not be the best method. To your question I believe you have to remove the entire metal piece that holds the mech from the door since I'm pretty sure the return button is part of this and not removable on it's own.
