We all know that Marble Madness takes the cake as the best System I game, but what do you guys think it 2nd best? I have played RoadBlasters, Indiana Jones, and RoadRunner in MAME, and while I cant mimic what the controls are supposed to be like, I'm leaning towards Indy. RB is fun, but seems shallow. RoadRunner is impossible to play in MAME without the Hall Effect stick, but seems like it would be hard as shit.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

i would go with INDIANA JONES if i were you jow. its got great music, cool speech, fun gameplay (but the game can be tough as shit...... esp in the later levels on MED and HARD). im still trying to get to the roap bridge level. those are the two kits i own (mm and indie).

oh, congrats on the marble madness too :) chris

Thanks bud. I love it.

I played Peter Packrat at CAX, but just dont "get" it. I wouldnt drop the coin they demand on one of those kits :(

Road runner for me. Great music and fun game play but the hall effects better be working 100percent or its impossible.

Yeah, i need to rebuild my hall effect joystick... problem is, I dont know what it "should" be like...

I'd go with Indy too! Which one of you brought yours to CAX with a broken joystick? Fess up! ;)

I always liked Roadblasters and Indy. My first thought would be RB over Indy, but Indy might have more replay appeal.

I played Roadblasters on Xbox's Midway Arcade Treasures, and it was kind of boring. I would assume the arcade controls would make it more involving, but playing via emulation didn't hold my interest.

Indy then RB.... Indy at least has the theme and speech. RB is just a driving game and that's not fair to compare.

Road Runner.....snoooooooze. Played it and the theme is cool but that's where it stops for me. Now the laser game version of RR....there's a game. :D:D

Peter Packrat... never been into giving it a second chance

Actually Roadrunner is playable in mame, the easiest way to do it is to buy a Xbox 360 controller and the usb adapter that lets you use an xbox controller on a computer. This gives the player 2 analog sticks. With this setup pretty much everything is playable in mame. I have tested Road runner and its very playable with this setup. The game is still very hard though (I have the real thing and its hard too!)

my 2nd pick would be Indiana Jones - fun game, the theme, the music, etc.
my 3rd pick would be Road Runner - pretty hard game, make sure you have a 100% working hall effect joystick or it'll drive you crazy, those opti boards on it are a pain in the ass to adjust.

Soon, Kali-Ma will rule the world!

But not while Indy's around.....

Indiana Jones..... by far... with Road Runner after that. I never played Peter Pack Rat and I never really cared for Road Blasters.
