The smackdown! Nice.... easily twice my best.

Aint no Ken House score but I'm pretty happy with it.
Ken gave me a couple really good pointers at Grinkers two years ago that I've been practicing and they helped my score to tremendously. Getting a little bit better as time goes on, but still got aways to go. :D

so are these ken house tips confidential or something?
why not open source this information so other players can try them out? thanks

Theres a couple of pointers he gave me that helped my game tremendously.
First and foremost he said once you realize the behavior of the monsters, they tend to behave the same throughout the game. The three biggest pointers were this:

1) The fruit appears every level after you have dropped the second rock. On the beginning levels they are not worth that much, but once you get a little further, they quickly become worth more than killing the monsters. Much much more very quickly.

2) Dig deep pits below the rocks for the monsters and lead them into it and trap them in a trench. You can also stun them with the pump so you get multiple monsters to follow you in and crush multiples of them at once. Ive been able to kill every monster on a level with one rock a couple times this way. The best way I think is to dig horizontally several layers below a rock, then once the rock is above you, but still a few layer up dig straight down to build a trench, then dig up. When the monsters follow you into the trap drop the rock and go the opposite direction (left or right) from where you dug the first horizontal tunnel. The monsters will go straight down and get stuck in the trench instead of exiting the tunnel. If your horizontal tunnel came in from the right, then exit left or vice versa.

3) If you can't catch the last monster at the end of the level, just keep digging. Once you get into higher score brackets those points for excavating dirt start to add up.

I found all of this extremely useful and it brought me from about a 100k game to where I'm at.

I always sucked at DigDug...

Going to have to try your tips. Thx :)

Not my tips "Ken House" tips. ;)
We just got our Dig Dug up and running a few months ago so I've been playing the hell out of it and practicing these.
Supper fun game and it gets more so the better you get at it.
I still can't get any further than level 32, but hoping to change that soon :D

EDIT: Maybe the sleeveless Dig Dug guru will chime in with a few others :D.

Man, I really need a diagram for tip #2!

Nice score!

He's banned.

I've used those strategies, and my best is still 149k.... then again, I don't have it set on "Easy", either. I have it set on Factory Default(Medium). The rest is how I have mine set, 3 Lives, 10/40/40.

Yeah... 148,900 I think is my best... also at medium 10/60/60 though. Honestly though, the few games I've played on easy don't seem all too different than the games I've played on medium forever now...

I honestly dont know if mine is set on easy or medium. Ive never reset the dip switches, but the bonus lives are 10/40/40 like in the description.

Nice score!

This will give you the basic idea.
Drill a hole down and then come back up on a rock once you have let monsters follow you.
Then exit the opposite direction you came in.
For example i drilled in from the center of the screen at the start position and when I dropped the rock I continued going that way (dont go back the direction you came in).
The monsters will try to get away from the falling rock, but follow you at the same time and go down and get stuck.
I.E. you can drop a rock on a group of them.

Theres actually fairly good example of this in the attract mode.

Fifth picture is my score today. :D
