Sears 1982 Christmas Holiday Season - Enjoy!

Man, I remember those days. That was the first Christmas I spend in the nuclear industry after leaving retail.

I didn't miss the Christmas rush. Not one bit.

I did like the double time and a half for Christmas day support.

Skip to 3:58 and enjoy all of the eye candy. You can stop at the uncomfortable looking reporter. ;)

Actually that was a fun little system. I use to play the heck out of that, at a friends house'

Wow, Intellivisions version of Donkey Kong sucked too. Wooh, that was a poor choice for a demo game at Sears at the time. Intellivision had better games than that on their system than that garbage.

Look that guy in the leather Jacket at the counter is buying E.T.

When I was in 5th grade there was a K mart on my way home from school that me and my buddies would stop at. They had an Atari 2600 kiosk that me and my friends would just takeover and this electronics sales guy would run us off, we called him Lurch. They also had an Intelevision kiosks right next to it but nobody ever played it.

When you could just walk into Sears and buy a Vector game...Freakin Epic!
USA! USA! USA!
Thanks for sharing 👍

I would probably be playing the Intellivision. I don't remember ever playing or even seeing the Vectrex in the Winter of 82. Actually those years were kind of strange, as far as home video games go. It had become pretty much all arcade experience by that time. Anything at the arcade blew away anything that could be simulated at home. It wasn't until a family member bought an NES in 88, with all the sports games that I got back into Home gaming Bases Loaded, RBI Baseball, Baseball Stars, Tecmo Bowl, Ice Hockey, Double Dribble, Golf and such.
John Elway Team quarterback was pretty big at the time in the arcades, along with Atari Cyberball Tounament 2072.
Then I remember playing Madden on a Genesis Kiosk, and that was it. Had to have it.
Madden Pretty much ended the NES also to a lesser extent NHL hockey. The NES was probably known more for it's baseball games. Did play alot of 2 player Tecmo Bowl though, Had to Have Bo Jackson or be able to throw to Mark Bavaro though🤣, The two Super Human players on the game🤣.Actually played a little 2 player NES John Elway Football if you were desperate for a little football action. Looking back at it. NES Elway was probably not as bad as I remember. But it wasn't very good.🤣People still talk about Super Tecmo Bowl, but for the most part Madden & the Genesis were on the scene along with game rentals by that time and the NES was old news.

The Original Playstation was kind of interesting, They had whole stores at the mall dedicated to selling that and games. Interestingly enough Madden was'nt very good when it came out on the original Playstation?? Gameday was the game to have. Which looking back at was pretty awful, with Madden probably being almost as bad. The Killer game for the Playstation was Triple Play "97". after some Rule and option Tweaking and a redraft ( had to tweak& tune that sumb*tch up)some epic 2 player games were played. I think that along with Triple Play "98" was the last time the Hustle Button was incorporated into a baseball game. But 97 was the better game after tweaking. It had it all Pitch er batter interface defense, base running.
Back in the day, you had to give alot of the games the old Tweak & Tune, to maximize the gameplay & Fun.🤣Simple fact was a lot of those sports games had to be dialed in before they became fun.
EA must of put alot into that game after for the most part never really having the killer game on the genesis. Some even saying Ken Griffey was the best 16 bit game baseball game ever made??? I never has a SNES or played Griffey so hard for me to say? I did have some fun with Larrusa, but it gets a bad wrap. You had to play it to get into it ( rule and option tweaks along with redrafts 🤣. But clearly EA was out to make the best baseball game ever when Triple Play 97 was released for the Playstation. My Brother couldn't put the game down for 24 hours after I bought it.🤣 Then The Epic Baseball games started.

It's all about the Tweak & Tune
