\'Sealing\' peeling backglass?

I saw a post where someone said that their pinball backglass was peeling but they 'sealed' it before too much flaked off...Any idea on how to do this (or is it total BS?).

My Qbert glass is flaking a bit and I'd love to arrest the situation before it gets worse.
