Working on getting all the explosion and periscope lights working. I started off with zero lights and was doing well by replacing transistors. I was trying to get all the explosion lights working and probably have it down to two more transistors. I replaced the one, and now getting garbage on the screen with constant dive sound. I switched back the old transistor and still get the same screen. I haven't replaced connectors yet, but will order some this week. Would a bad connector do this?

I also have no periscope lights. Any common problem with these or any where else to check? I replaced all bulbs.

I am using theShanMan's test ROM to help troubleshoot.

Thanks.

Check your voltage at the main board.
Replace crappy edge connectors on harness.
Resolder all the little pins on the connectors where the daughter board seats into the main board.

The lights are 12 volt 1895's if I remember correctly. So maybe you have a problem with the 12 volts at the power supply?

I got mine working by putting shims under the board above the periscope, the some of them worked so i put 1/8 th inch plywood under it and they worked perfectly. If you try it be careful, that board is really brittle, minevwas already cracked in two places.

Then I broke my game by replacing the edge connectors and it's sitting here for a while out of frustration.

Still getting same image. Tested voltages, changed connectors, and reseated/resolder header pins on the 72 pin connector. Any other thoughts?

· · · — — — · · · (SOS), sonar ping going unanswered.... :)

Voltages checked out fine, too. Any other thoughts to motivated me on this?

Have you confirmed that there is nothing stopping the processor from booting? Mine wasn't booting for a couple of reasons. I had a bad logic chip that was part of the clock circuit if I recall correctly, and the processor itself was bad too. Start studying the schematics and the processor datasheet, and then start testing the processor inputs and outputs and go from there.

I want to put this on my bench. Any advice how to hook up the pcb to a color monitor? Looked at brent radio's site on how to do this for space invaders but seems different for sea wolf.

Make sure you didnt drop anything on the board...try reseating the daughterboard. If this is running in the cab make sure the slam switch on the coin door isnt shorted.

Try reseating the processor or yank rom H and see if you get the lines.

Ps- this board would be no different from an Si when it comes to monitor connections.
