All the lights for the front glass(lower part; upper part is a blacklight) were burned out. I foolishly replaced them with the regular ABL-47 bulbs. They all came on and worked fine for 5 minutes then burned out. The lights that were in there when I got the game were this: T 1895. They look different; I'm assuming they are a higher wattage. Does anyone have a manual that tells what size bulbs go in there; and what the voltage is supposed to be in the sockets? Thanks

They are supposed to be # 1895 miniature lamps which are 12 volt. You can buy these bulbs at ANY auto parts store.

3.8 watts is too high. You can get a 14 volt 1.8 watt that is closer to what is original and i think 1.8 watt is still a little higher than stock but will work. I forget the number but I can find out.

I don't think the #1895 will be too bright it's what they use behind the Space Invaders marquee and it is basically the same setup but I'll get a few 1813 and see what it looks like. Just so you know the periscope lights and the explosion lights are the only ones I've actually seen documented. They have the periscope lamps down as #53 bulbs and the explosions lamps as#1895 bulbs.

----------edited ----------------
Well in brightness they both look about the same but the 1813s do seem to be running cooler so I think I'm going to use the 1813 myself

Ya, i notice that the 1813's are plenty bright and a LOT cooler.

LED's instead of replacing the bulbs?

I had to replace mine as well - but I wondered if it made any sense to rig-up LED's instead of the replacement bulbs - for no other reason than to prevent the heat from further aging - and possibly damaging - the paint on the backglass.
-Anyone ever give that a shot?
Thanks,
Chuck
