Replaced the joysticks in a midway MS Pacman cocktail cab. P2 no issues all is working well.

P1 I'm only getting right actuvation. Pulled back out and tested each switch. All are activating as expected when tested with a meter. Switches wired normally open as the old ones were. Old one had common jumpers between up and right and down and left. I added those as well.

Tested continuity on each side of the molex connector. Connector tests good.

Any ideas on what to look at next?

Maybe try swapping the wires from the P1 joystick to the P2 joystick? Could be a board issue?

Did you check continuity between ground and U/L/D closed pin on each? Sounds like maybe everything BUT the R microswitch is shorted to ground. That's assuming you meant "goes to the right when I push right on the joystick" when you said you were only getting right activation.

So that's interesting.

My commons don't have continuity except where the jumpers were R&U and L&D. That said all commons are red and I only have two red wires sharing a pin in the connector.

Tracing the two reds from the connector. 1 goes to the p2 start button only.

Second red dead ends catching up and right leaving down and left not getting ground. Apparently I mixed up where the jumpers were on the original.

Thanks!

I know posts like this seem silly but they are incredible helpful. I don't have anyone local to talk out an issue that sometimes just takes a key word or two to point me in the right direction.
