Scrambled Monitor

Oh, it'll go good. IT'LL GO DAMN GOOD!

If it's a 4600, you'll have a large black knob on one of the vertical daughter boards in the back.

If it's a G07, it'll be a small metal plate with a place to put a screwdriver in it and twist it slightly.

If it's a 7000, it'll have a knob on the back of the board in a row with about 5 others,

if it's a 4900, they'll be vertical knobs sticking up from the back of the board in a row.

All of them should be labeled.

Some monitors have a remote board, look for a ton of wires coming off the pcb heading somewhere else (like a dozen wires), follow the wires and you'll find a little board with knobs on it.

If this monitor is new to AJAX, or AJAX is new to this cab, bear in mind that some monitors will not sync if the vertical sync wire is connected, and some will not sync if the vertical sync wire is NOT connected....

It's been in that cab for awhile, its new to me, found it in a foreclosure house. I think the cab was originally a frogger cab. It's labeled as such on the back.

I appreciate all the help on this... It's exciting to get it working. I plan on slappin in a 60 in 1 but it will be nice to know that everythings good

HA! It's all good now. There is a little discoloration in the top right corner but its not bad.. I think a little more adjustment will improve the quality of the picture. But other than that it works! Now I am just waiting on my 60 in 1 board. Hopefully it works alright

The discoloration is called 'degauss', the monitor has a magnetic field and the earth does too, so they react sometimes and do that. It makes it worse if you move the game while powered up. You can fix it with a degauss ring, or with a strong electromagnetic, just get it near the screen, it'll screw the colors up really bad, then move it away from the screen until it looks better.

The monitor has a built in circuit that does this too, but sometimes if you get a bad corner like that it never gets better until you use an external ring on it.

True that,its a handy tool...

I will see if I have any money left after ordering a pcb, and new happs controls for another machine. But I will definitely take your advice. It's a pretty fun game. I am glad I finally got to play it!
