Scramble High Score Save Kits

You may see that if the +5 is low... if you have a switcher turn the power up a little. If you have a linear power supply you may need to rebuild it

It looks like the original Stern linear PS. I adjusted +5 to 5.2v at the PS (it was 5.09).

Got the scores reset to 10k and put up 157k. I turned it off and a minute later back on and the score remained!

I've turned it off and we'll see if it has a 30 minute break whether it will stick.

Any insight what happens after 999,999? Does it roll to 0, or is there space for 7 digits? My gut says its rolls....

I'm a little out of practice, so no worries for now - I was just curious.

Just find longer screws and cut up a bic pen to size

My OCD is going to kick in and not allow me to do that.

Looks like digikey has them all the way up to 2 inches.

If I can mail them in a regular USmail envelope (ie, 40-something cents) would others be interested in some (minimum order from digikey is 10, but there is a good drop at 100.

I have a bunch of 1" standoffs. I believe that is long enough. I'll send you some for free. Just send me your address.

1.5" needed, thanks anyways! I already ordered 20 (10 minimum and I didn't want 2 odd ones).

Really? I believe the original spacers are 0.75"... and isn't there just a slight clearance problem? I don't have Jason's kit, so I don't know.... I'm sure he'll chime in and educate us.

Yes, old ones are .75". I simply took a ruler and measured the space between the boards. The nvram is touching (or close to it) the bottom of the other board on mine.

Maybe I did something wrong - anyone else?

Okay, I installed the 1.5" standoffs. After doing that (and having both boards more or less parallel) - people could probably get by with 1". Its just a hair over 1" between the boards (I must have measured on the end at an angle before). Some of the soldered legs on the top board might be a problem, but I think 1" would work in a pinch.
