In Todd Tuckey's episode #813, he refers to the notorious image on the Scramble bezel and says it is the first run of the bezel. I don't remember ever seeing any other version of the bezel. Was there a second run that changed the image?

I believe that's become some sort of urban myth. I've never seen another version of the bezel.

I wonder if people are confusing the Zaccaria version?

Or, perhaps, the bezel for Super Cobra?

Never seen that game before, I like the bezel compared to the original!

Zaccaria version reminds me of Universal art. So much better than Stern version.

I agree, I love scramble, but now that I see the marquee and CP as well, I like the Zaccaria version better. The only reason anyone likes the stern is its innuendo, otherwise no one would even mention it.

No, not even close. The whole cabinet, with the original spaceman stencil side art, bezel, CP & marquee are some of the best graphic design work on any of the classic games hands down. The level of detail and execution that went into those is amazing. The fellatio gag (heh...see what I did there?) just added some notoriety. Outside of many of the Universal games, Scramble is among the tops in artwork.

Oddly enough, as much as I played it back in the day, I never, ever even noticed that part of the bezel. Completely glazed right over it until the games exhibit hit the local science museum a couple of years back.

---edited to add:----

And agreed, the Zaccaria version is a jaw-dropper! So gorgeous!
