Found 2 old movie theater speakers at a garage sale on Friday. They came from the old theater on 5th street in Winona, MN. The guy that had them works construction and got them when they renovated the building years ago. They had been sitting in his basement for years.

I got em home and took them apart and what did I find? Made in USA Jensen 5 watt speakers inside! Very cool. When's the last time you saw any electronics made in this country? They work nice, too. I hooked them up to the same system as my drive in speakers.

Now I'll have to figure out a way to mount them nicely in the upper corners of the small side of my arcade. I like the old vintage look of them. They will fit in nicely with everything else in my arcade.

More pics of them on my photobucket link in my signature.....

You didn't buy me any extras there John-- dam you!! nice score..

Well I finally got these speakers mounted and wired up. I used brown lampcord wire. It's nearly invisible. From one speaker I ran the wire over to the pole and then down to the top of the base trim. I used 3/8 inch staples to hold the wire down neatly to the top of the trim. For the other speaker I ran the wire right down the corner and used the staples in the sheetrock, then to the trim from there. I had to run the wire behind my poles and all the way over to the other side of my gameroom to the storage space, which is where the stereo is.

Used plywood for a mounting plate(screwed into the ceiling joice), painted them and then put hooks into each plate and into the speakers so they would hang nicely without touching the walls.

The speakers sound great. Now I have music flowing on both sides of my gameroom. I love this stuff!

Nice! What kind of music do you play in your gameroom? I'm just wondering if you have a set selection that's tied into your distinctive room theme.

Just the run of the mill 70's-80's music for the most part. Judas Priest's "Headin' Out to the Highway" fits nicely, though...

You have the coolest theme'd room by far! I know I've told you before, but your threads are ones I always have to view. :) Great job(again)!

Looks great, just like all the other stuff you have added.

I thought it was funny you went to all the trouble to hide the wires, when you have a utility pole right next to the speaker. I would have run the wire to the pole and maybe even wrapped it around the insulator and made it look like a telephone line or something.

What you did looks great, I just had a different take on what I'd do with the wire.

Good idea. I could still do that. I like to hear other people's ideas about this stuff....

I feel like you should mount the speaker underneath your crossarm and maybe put a fake jumper on it, to make it look like a transformer hookup. Looks cool either way. And I love Wizard of Wor. Probably my favorite 2 player game in my collection.

Another good idea. Wish I would've thought of that. Possibilities for the future if I get bored. Thanks for the input....
