I got an email from a friend at work this morning telling me that he had an "arcade board" for me. He said that he was driving yesterday and saw a guy wheeling a cabinet to the street. He stopped to ask the guy if he could take it, and the guy said, "sure thing." The guy had kept the cab on his back porch with the intention of refurbing it, but never got around to it. However, he kept the board in the house since he didn't want it to get jacked up. He asked my friend if he wanted the board, and then gave it to him for free.
Well, my friend told me I could have the board, but he didn't know what game it was for. He told me where the cab was, and initially I was going to get it after work, but then I realized it was about to rain and it was also trash day. Soooo...I booked it out of the office and went to see the cab, grabbing my toolbox on the way out. I figured if the guy had stuck it on the curb, it was probably thrashed, and I could just strip it (still didn't know it was a PC-10 at this point).
Well, I got there and saw what it was and decided I have to get the cab instead of stripping it. Only problem was that I was in an Aveo. Well, it turns out that a PC-10 can be hauled in an Aveo hatchback. If you want to get technical though, only the top third was in the Aveo. The rest was hanging out the back.
I had another friend that lives about 4 blocks from where I got the game, so I drove to his place and dumped it in the carport. I'll go back in a few and get the cab to bring home.
It needs a lot of work, the boards on the bottom sides came off when I lifted it. I don't know if the cab can be saved. Worst case scenario is that I transplant it into a generic cab.
I'll post some pics when I get it home.
