Got an email from the sister that the bro-in-law found a DK sitting on the curb when he opened the garage. Knowing I'm "into these things" he wheeled it into the garage. No idea if it powers up or not, but it looks complete except for one button, back door, and t-molding. Only problem is it's in SoCal and I'm in Wisconsin.

4200 miles at 15mpg at $3.50+/gal = one very expensive Donkey Kong.

I suggest donating it to the 8th poster in this thread.

Donkey

Dude.. Take a better look.. Thats an original bezel on there.maybe cpo too and marquee.. If nothing else get that stuff!!!!!

Yah, I'm currently checking out freight companies as well as some personal trucking connections to see if I can get it here cheaply enough. Not sure I want to try and have the bro-in-law do too much poking around to see if it work. Tools and electronics don't like him. :D

Yeah, if I were you, I'd advise him to shrink wrap that sucker and let it sit for a shipping company. No sense attempting to turn it on and wrecking something more.

He found a dk sitting on the curb when he opened his garage?? You Americans are so fu%$ing lucky!! ;) That would easily go for 500 (Euro) around here.

These things happen more in California than anyplace else. Don't think we all find DK's sitting on the curb over here.. ;)

Congrats! I had a friend call me a few months back telling me he saw a few machines sitting on a curb near his job and told me to come take a look. Ended up getting a nice condition Donkey Kong Junior out of the trip.
